Pregnancy Update: Week 40

We have been expecting our second for several months now. We don't know the gender, but the little bugger tried to escape at 31 weeks when I was having major contractions that they had to stop medically and now here we are at 40 weeks tomorrow. It's amazing how long this baby has hung out, cause we thought for sure it was going to be early, but thank the heavens it wasn't.

I had been having pretty regular contractions, and I guess I still am to some extent, but since Monday night I have been drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea and I haven't been feeling them as intensely. I have experienced a noticeable difference in the way I am able to get around, sleep position and turning over isn't as hard and just an overall comfort level that has been missing for many months. It is something I would highly recommend you drink if you are late in pregnancy and are uncomfortable. I think it is only safe to drink after 37 weeks since it preps your uterus for the impending labor, although it isn't suppose to cause labor, it makes contractions more effective. I drink three cups a day.

I have been noticing lately my pregnancy clothes aren't fitting well. I don't feel comfortable in anything anymore cause everything just seems so tight and I feel like my belly is hanging out. Tonight I thought, well if I raid my hubby's closet for something looser fitting I will finally be comfortable, but to my surprise I found that his clothes are getting too tight as well. It would be ridiculous to go out and get a much larger maternity shirt, since the baby would probably pop out while I was paying for the shirt, but something has to give.

Here's one embarrassing photo, that hubby caught on film because he wanted to show the belly over the sink. I am willing to share with you to show you just how big I am and as you can see how the shirt comes out and lets a breeze up the bottom hem.

For any of you mom's out there, did you ever have this clothing problem late in pregnancy?
