How To Get Free Education

Recently I came across the most awesome place in the world to get free education. Coursera is a site where you can easily log in and start taking college courses from top US Universities. Some of the Universities include Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, Princeton University, University of Washington, to name a few.

It doesn't cost a thing to join or take any class you want. The reading materials are provided and courses feature video lectures. You are assigned work and follow a syllabubs like you would in a traditional setting, but you choose when to take the course and do the work. I have already been enjoying these classes way more the web course I took when I was a paying student. They didn't offer video lectures, you just read the lecture, then the material, then did the homework. It was never this engaging, fun or interesting!

You won't get college credit or a degree from taking these courses, but there is such a good variety of courses that are out there that it might be a nice brushing up tool or a way to take a class before you pay for it, like Organic Chem. As a mom you might be interested in their Vaccine or Health Policy and the Affordable Care Act course. As a small business owner you might be interested in the Finance or Grow to Greatness: Smart Growth of Private Businesses. There is such a mix of classes offered that you can't go without at least checking out what they offer.

I have found it is a great way to spend an hour or less after I put the baby down for bed. I take in one of the lectures or readings, which I feel keeps my mind engaged and growing. It is amazing that this kind of thing is now offered. I can't wait to see what new classes they will have for us in the future. I would really love to brush up on my accounting skills.
