Coupons are not just designed to save
you money. Many are offered as a way to get you to spend money on a
product that you would not usually buy. However, when used
effectively, coupons will help to enjoy your life on a budget.
Coupon Apps for the Smartphones
The invention of the smartphone and
apps for the phones has made it possible to create apps for coupons.
Coupon Sherpa offer an app for both the iPhone and Android phones and
there are many other coupon companies that do the same. This makes it
possible to use an app while out and about and gain coupons from many
different places. There is no need to pick one exact place since you
can check the places signed up to the codes based on your current
location.
Do You Want or Need the Product or
Service?
Before you start using a coupon,
determine whether you really need or want the item. The problem with
vouchers and coupons is that they give you the false impression that
you instantly save money by using them. The only way that you save
money is if you were going to buy the product or service in the first
place – or you were looking around for something similar.
Look at the Full Terms
Take a look at all the terms and
conditions before you attempt to use a coupon. You may find that you
have to spend a certain amount before you are able to save a set
percentage and this could lead to spending more money that you
otherwise would just to use the coupon. Really think about whether
you were going to meet the terms of the voucher before you make the
decision to use one.
Do You Need the Extras?
‘Buy two get a third free’ or ‘buy
one get one half price’ offers are everywhere and they can work out
beneficial. The question that you need to ask is whether you really
need the extra items that you gain. When you see a ‘buy two get a
third free’, you automatically pick up three of the item, thinking
that you are saving money; however, you may have only wanted one in
the first place so the offer has helped you spend more money instead
of saving it.
There Will Be More
All coupons have an expiry date and
this date is there to push you to spend your money now. However, it
is worth remembering that more coupons will come. Many places now
offer vouchers on a regular basis but change the type each time so
avoid rushing to make the decision and only spend the money when you
know it will save you money. You may find that it was worth waiting
for the next coupon as it may work out better for you financially.
Shop Around for the Best Deal
Just because one store is offering
coupons for their products does not mean that that is the cheapest
option available. It is still worth taking the time to shop around
for prices to see if you can find a cheaper option in another store.
You should never jump straight for a coupon deal and still treat your
shopping like you would usually.
Coupons can help you to save money but
only if you use them effectively. The problem is that stores want you
to shop with them and they offer deals to entice you to buy. It is
likely that you do not need the products or services, which leads to
spending more money just to be able to save some.

These are great tips! I am definitely guilty of that buy-two-get-one-free scam! I always feel like it's such a great deal, when I often end up wasting the extras anyways! ha Thanks for sharing these!!!
