Instead Softcup is a product that is near and dear to my heart. I have been using this tampon/pad alternative since nearly the beginning of my womanhood, and to put that into prospective, that has been over 13 years. When I switched, at the ripe old age of 16, I never looked back. I don't use anything but this Instead Softcup. I learned about this product initally on an informerical, when I was about 14 or 15, it wasn't until I was working at a local grocery store and a 20 something came through the line with it in her cart, and I asked her what she thought. I will never forget her response, she said to me, "It is the best thing I have ever used!" After my shift that day, I picked a box up to try. The first time I tried them out, I was amazed at how easy it was to use and how much I couldn't tell I was even using anything. I read the easy to follow instructions and got a perfect fit on my second try. By now, you are probably asking yourself, What is an Instead Softcup?

Instead Softcups are a revolutionary feminine cup that allows you the freedom to do everything you are limited to doing when using conventional products, i.e. pads or tampons, while "Aunt Flo" is visiting each month. The cup is inserted somewhat like a tampon, but instead of resting in your vaginal canal, it cups your cervix. This design is not only more comfortable than using a tampon, but it reduces any odors that are caused by the flow because it is not exposed to air since the Softcup collects the menstrual flow instead of absorbing it. Once the Softcup is in place it can't be felt and you are free to do any activity you want!
I bet you are asking yourself how does this product work? As I mentioned eariler it rests below and cups your cervix, catching your flow. Once the Softcup is full, anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on how heavy the flow is. Once full, you pull it out, dump the contents in the toilet and wrap the cup in tissue or the wrapper from the next Softcup, and dispose in the trash. You do not want to flush the Softcup, as it will cause plumping problems. Below is a video explaining now to insert and remove the Softcup.
Now I am guessing you are wondering how this Softcup is different than what is out there on the market today. To answer that question, it is simply in the design of the Softcup and where it placed when you are wearing it. There are many advantages to the way the Softcup is designed that sets it apart from other products:
- Ability to do any physical activity when wearing the Softcup (including swimming, horseback riding, intercourse and going to the bathroom)
- Latex Free, Hypoallergenic, Non-Toxic, Non-Irritating Material
- One size, no worries about what size to order, molds to your body

Great review! I tried these a couple years ago, but a few minutes after inserting it, I was talking to a friend and she said that she thought they may contain latex. ( I have a latex allergy) I could not find anything on the box to indicate that they are latex free, so I removed it and have never used them again. Thanks so much for pointing out that they are latex free.
